Author of "Soul Fingers." I'm the Duck Dunn expert.
This was the first time I've plugged my bass into an amp designed for upright and I loved it! I tried an iAmp combo, and a Wizzy 10 with an Eden 265 head. Now I know what my bass is SUPPOSED to sound like! The Fishman sounded fine with the rig. Now all I need is a few bucks.

By the way, when I went there, they informed me the first 20 Natural Blondes made had to be recalled; some sort of wiring problem, some dude forgot to run through the fuse or something. So, if you bought one, I understand they'll replace it. Shame though. I really wanted to try that amp.

That was probably it. It just seemed to have a thinner sound than the EA stuff, and the treble was cut all the way. I probably do need a lesson in EQing an upright amp properly though. Either way, it was WAY better sounding than my electric rig with my upright.

[ Edit - I don't know if you tried the iAMP 200, 500 or 800 combo. The 800 uses a CXL-112L driver, and the smaller ones use a Wizzy. Anyway ... ]

I have not tried every possible amp / speaker / combo out there (not even close), but I think I really lucked out when I bought my iAMP-200 C Wizzy combo several years ago. I think it is underrated for DB and it works great for for doubling, yet I haven't seen that many people using them or posting about them. There are certain things I like just a little better about my Focus 2R and Wizzy M-line, esp. the 2 channels, combination style inputs, and the high pass filter. But I ordered one of fdeck's HPF units, and I am anxious to hear what that does for the Wizzy combo. I am happy gigging w/ either set up.

I don't really use the EQ w/ either set up. I like the way they sound flat, not including the HPF on the Focus, which I am totally beginning to appreciate.

Bass Central huh - I got my Lakland Bob Glaub from Beaver Felton there. You didn't happen to see a sonic blue Joe Osborn w/ a rosewood FB there did you? Been pinin' for one of those for a while now. :bassist:
