Agreed. Indeed the Diamond is the better choice here.

What does the gain do on that pedal, JoshWah? does it start to get heavy like a bass balls kinda idea, or just a boost? you don't see too main envelopes with gainI noticed the Gain was up really high on the JoshWah! lol
As I’m sure you’ve already read, The Locust Star does more subtle rock tones really well too.
It’s meant to boost your signal prior to it triggering the filter stage, thus adding harmonics to the signal being filtered. It can go from “clean” to ”some OD” to “stop banging your electric razor to the wall”. Higher settings sound almost fuzz-like. Think of Cliff Burton’s intro to “For Whom the Bell Tolls”, but with a single pedal rather than Wah + fuzz/muff.What does the gain do on that pedal, JoshWah? does it start to get heavy like a bass balls kinda idea, or just a boost? you don't see too main envelopes with gain
lol classic! I know this problem all too well. Every now and then they dial in a cool new tone for me, though.Mind, I don’t drive it THAT hard; the pic was taken after my cats apparently played with the board. They really really like Broughton stuff, can’t get enough of the packages in particular.
Yes I saw that they emulate different Ampeg amps, I was just thinking if the SV-pre can cop a tube sound, and it's in a smaller form factor, and cheaper too, maybe it was an overall better choice for gigging?
However, I'm assuming that the P15, being tube driven, sounds better. So far I really like the tone I'm getting from it. But, if the SV-pre sounded anywhere close to actual tube tone, it would make for a practical alternative for a gigging muscian.
I had to look that up. Lol.
Solid state != tube. And from experience, the Fliptop != P-15. Do your own extrapolation.
You're trying to compare apples and oranges, not the least of which are two entirely different tone stacks as well as how they work.
Only you can decide what's worth it to schlep.
That’s good universal math there.
That’s good universal math there.
None of that weird “new math” stuff.
Basic girls or basic math?I'm all about the basics.
Basic girls or basic math?
Girls that can do math?
Mum always said, “find something your good at and stick to it”. She’s a gem.Now you're just trying to get someone in trouble, man.
Remind me not to join any manned space flights under your banner.Assuming the equations Solid State != tube and Fliptop != P-15 are true, we can then also assume that tube = P-15, thus Solid State = Fliptop. It was this type of advanced mathematics that took NASA to the moon.
Given the right font set, I can also prove that girls are evil.

Dibs.Listen, my space flights will be perfectly safe and extraordinarily well equipped, and technologically superior to any service and systems now available.
We're just not very good at landings yet...![]()
