Broughton Audio Super Thread

Is anyone else STILL waiting on their Maestro? It was silly for a minute now its just getting ridiculous. 3 weeks. Usually takes 8 days I can set my clock to it.

oooooo. I thought I was in the last group of people. Jeesh I hope it comes soon.

I’m starting to wonder if the holdovers at USPS have completely de-prioritized international mail processing. My ShiftLine package has been at JFK for over a month with no movement.

Well, he's shooting himself into space, so there's that.

Finally got a chance to play a gig with the messenger... I love it!!! I played with it about two weeks ago and when I played the first note one of the guys in the band said "damn!" (It sounded amazing). I played one last week without it and it was a noticeable difference for the worse. Super happy with it... I'll have that one forever! Thanks @kranahan !

What did it add to your chain? Did it bring a semi variable mid and hlpf to your board for the first time?

If not, and you already had those elements, what did it bring that was new?

I’m asking because I have a ton of eq shaping already on my board and I’m wondering if the messenger would be redundant

IMHO If you have the EQ, and L+HPF covered already, and don’t need a DI, etc, I wouldn’t worry about the Messenger.

It’s a spectacular clean preamp, but won’t bring as much to the party if you don’t need the other features.

I'm really enjoying this dirt chain:

HPF->Locust Star->Master Super 300->FFxLoop (Big Muff)->Monocomp

Bluebeard and Titan both work great in the Big Muff slot.

Enjoyed last practice with something quite close to your signal chain : LS > Tightdrive Jr > Apex > SV-Pre > RML Mig SE (my BM slot) > Studio Boost > Arkham Oracle. LS is a great pedal, def a great tweak to the OG Rat circuit, covering a lot of ground esp due to how Range, Gain and clipping switch interact with each other.

Had nice surprises with Tightdrive Jr ans SB as well. Tightdrive adds some serious low mids heft very amp-like saturation, while SB's flavour, which is subtle at home, is (much) more noticeable within loud amps context.
