Any problems with the nut? assuming someone went back to standard?
To do it right, you have to file the nut to the thicker sizes. If you go back, it means a new nut. Minor cost really.

It reminds me of a tighter, compressed bass box, run it through a envelope and/or octave and it gets even better. I was favoring the Doom 2 over it, until I dialed in a fxloop for it, its now my favorite fuzz. Very synthy, which I apparently like.. before you dismiss it, try it on a fxloop or blender, sound gets massive (which I think even with the clean dial, still lacks a little of the low end just by itself)Maestro fuzz is most nuanced fuzz I've tried ever. Its rad. Depending on how hard and where you strike the note it sounds drastically different.
So far I like dials at noon-ish, switches right. But there's a lot to try in there.
However I'm not 100% sure I'll hold on to it. Time will tell but if you have a nice trade offer feel free to pm me. You never know.
Shoot, I even look at my nutts the wrong way things go wrong... I like em really low though, I even had to replace after a 110 gauge E..I’m fact, at least three of my basses have been modified for larger strings over the years and none of them have any issues going back to standard gauges.

Give me all the gates! The Dystopia and Maestro are the gatekeepers. This might be the ultimate fuzz for playing slow sluggy doom. It has a really nuanced big bloom. Some fuzzes have an ultra compressed attack which doesn't lend itself to fast playing as well. That gated effect I don't care for.
Yeah I can see that, I get pretty quick response right around 20-25% gain, as it gets higher there is definitely a bloom. Faster, more articulate playing works better on the D2, reason I'm keeping it. You never know, Josh may not make any more fuzzies! This might be the ultimate fuzz for playing slow sluggy doom. Well hey, everyone's situation and preferences are different. I don't go for "as low as possible" any more. I've got a comfortable range of specs that I prefer, but I'm not terribly picky. And Worst Case Ontario, it's a pretty cheap part to replace as @Alien8 said. Labour to have it done, maybe not. I dunno tho... never had toShoot, I even look at my nutts the wrong way things go wrong... I like em really low though, I even had to replace after a 110 gauge E..

Yeah I typically play really low on my Jazz, for octave and synth. My other basses I hit pretty hard so I can't run them too low. I just had some buzz on the E/A 1-5 and after reworking everything downstream, found it was buzzing before the fretted note, because of some larger strings back in my experimental days lol - chased my tail for a while on that one, learned a lot about nuts thoughtWell hey, everyone's situation and preferences are different. Pretty sure that the basses I've modded would have been filed somewhere into the range of 120 or 125 low string (Used to play in a band in Drop C [CGCF] and liked the strings tight back then), and now it's 45-105 or thereabouts on most of them. My Attitude bass might be 50-110 right now, can't remember.
Atta boy. This is an esox... esox masquinongy to be precise... or muskellunge (muskie, musky, etc...). Not to be confused with esox lucious (pike).

I have never found an octave pedal that sounds good enough do a convincing "clean bass" tone... Also, my entire fascination with the Synth Voice is that I've realized it's kind of a pain to have to play an octave higher than normal all the time just to get a good synth tone.If you aren’t playing chords and don’t need the extra low notes all the time, why not use an octave pedal and play a bit higher up with the dry rolled off? I hear Josh has made a few octave pedals.
I’ve got my Maestro in a FfXL, with Fuzz and Gain at about 10-10:30, Clean at 3:00, Left switch left and Right switch right. Pretty good there for me.So far I like dials at noon-ish, switches right. But there's a lot to try in there.
You'd think a pedal with clean blend wouldn't benefit so much from a blender but it doesI’ve got my Maestro in a FfXL, with Fuzz and Gain at about 10-10:30, Clean at 3:00, Left switch left and Right switch right. Pretty good there for me.
This sounds like a good challenge! I’ve never tried it but perhaps an HPF and compressor can help get close. Obviously have to play an octave up.I have never found an octave pedal that sounds good enough do a convincing "clean bass" tone... It definitely helps the LED and silicone modes, I get a pretty convincing blue beard on silicone/high gainI gotta try the Locust Star in the FFxL. It has plenty of low end, but the FFxL can have a great effect even with bass heavy pedals.
Meris Hedra can do pretty good, if you don't mind the digital mess. I know the SV/SVD isn't clean but it sounds clean when mixed nicely with the, well clean channel. Is that what you're after, straight clean tone, one octave up?I have never found an octave pedal that sounds good enough do a convincing "clean bass" tone...
