Broughton Audio Super Thread

This was a lot of fun tonight. LS stacks so well with everything else on my board.

I have never found an octave pedal that sounds good enough do a convincing "clean bass" tone... Also, my entire fascination with the Synth Voice is that I've realized it's kind of a pain to have to play an octave higher than normal all the time just to get a good synth tone.
I didn’t get to try the SVD since I don’t have it with me right now but I tried an Octamizer and Okto-Nojs yesterday and the Octamizer actually does a much better clean octave sound. Passable with headphones on. Have to try in a band setting to see if it could work. I imagine the SVD will do well too.

Thanks for posting this.

It disturbs me that Locust Star isn't mentioned in upcoming releases. I'm still dibsing anyone who wants to get rid of theirs.

Is it not possible to dial in the Deluxe where the standard sits? I would think that's like comparing preamps with or without a gain control. Honestly I think a master should be added to the Deluxe

Hard to put my finger on it but there was a level of trepidation engaging the SVD. The 125 works equally effective but isn’t as boomy and unpredictable. Easier to dial in, smaller and has a nice dark emerald green color.

boomy and unpredictable

This was the part that I had an issue with for the brief time I had an SVD. I really liked it and liked the idea of it, but I felt like I can barely touch my bass Without getting all kinds of booming and unpredictable noise… Probably should’ve given it more of a chance I’m sure there’s ways of keeping it a little more reigned in…. Never tried a SV.

I've only ever had the Synth Voice Deluxe. I like it a lot. From what I remember of the original discussion, to match the Deluxe to the original Synth Voice you turn the filters on the Synth and Sub voices all the way closed, and Clean voice all the way open. I've tried this and it's a good sound, but I like being able to dial each voice in to taste. I've said this before, but the only thing missing IMO is a Master Volume control.

And here i was thinking I was the only one who preferred the regular SV over the SVD.

I had both and donated the SVD to the auction because I could dial in the SV better and gelled with it more.
SV, JoshWah, RFE, and FPTSD are my favorite Broughton pedals.

eventually ill get my finances back in order and hopefully rebuild my pedalboard.

wish Josh would make a delay with multiple delay heads and like 1200ms of delay time
