It'll be moved to the front page & coming soon when ready just like the Solarian, Synth Voice Deluxe, etc
I'm playing with the Messenger and wired IEMs in an ampless situation, however the Messenger is also the DI to the board. In this case, the volume level needed to drive the board is also sends too much volume to the headphone out (for me—I have a quiet mix), so I'm switching between a passive volume unit and a headphone amp to decide what works best, setting a a bass volume that works and mixing in the aux/monitor mix sans bass (there's also a limiter in this chain). If the monitor mix includes bass, the mixing constraint of the Messenger is not an issue, but the ability to adjust the bass level as needed is lost.

Not a direct comparison but seems like the Solarian doesn’t do extreme clean:My gut tells me that there may be significant overlap/similarities with a Spaceman Saturn VI, and a Broughton Solarian. Anyone who has owned both care to share?
Thanks for the insight! The volume control driving the DI out is a deal breaker for me. If during a gig I mess with the signal strength to the board and change the gain setup and everything, the sound engineer would not be too happy.![]()
Run the power supply up and it will get pretty cleanNot a direct comparison but seems like the Solarian doesn’t do extreme clean:
“I use the Saturn V at low gain, and the Solarian to me will only get so clean. The Solarian is a wonderful drive pedal though. At higher gain they may sound similar (I haven't compared them at higher gain) but I use the Saturn just as a tone thickener and mid boost with the gain about as low as it will go.” Post 21326 by @BartmanPDX
Like “Free Beer”!Happy sound engineers should be the name of a band. It’s always cool to name your band after something that does not exist….
+1. I find the Solarian almost unusable at 9V, but it’s a totally different pedal at 18V.Run the power supply up and it will get pretty clean

He always seems to find a way back onto my board....Bluebeard gone
The Broughtons are the bread in your big mac of pedals.......Minor changes to the small board. Bluebeard gone in favour of the MBD2 acting as the “fuzz”, and using Terraformer for lighter, more subtle drive. MBD stacks amazingly well into the Terraformer, and they both sound great following the octave. Terraformer at 18V maximizes my available power too, and frees up one 9V tap for a tuner. Win/Win/Win.
I thought I had misplaced my power cords for the ol’ DC Brick, but I remember now that I had to throw some out due to pesky kittens chewing on them. As it stands right now, I’m maxed out.
SVD in, but interchangeable with the Octabvre as the mood strikes.
Sushi LU in place of SVPre for now, which I think I’m going to send in to Josh for a checkup. I’m questioning whether I’m getting full output out of it and want to get it checked out, even if it’s just for peace of mind.

the v1 has separate output levels for line and DI.
LOL I literally had that exact thought last night. The Broughtons are the bread in your big mac of pedals.......
