Wow!! That's my first impression.
I just plugged it in and set it to Evans phat settings and I'm happy I made this trade.

To me its like W&C's gold comp married the PDR and had an Omni.

I'll have to dig in deeper tomorrow and see how the limiting aspect goes and an A/B with the PDR. Awesome work Josh!

So the plot thickens. I figured out the noise today was coming from the S1 XLR, so Ground Lift to the rescue. Turned GL on and dead quiet, so I'm happy about that. (@JeffTCS and his dibs are not). It is a little weird because I've never needed the GL at my rehearsal space before, but if that solves the issue that is good.

But that doesn't explain why it was noisy thru the Messenger & headphones yesterday. More experimentation awaits when I return to the Bat Cave.

Did you happen to turn up the gain on the messenger so you could have more volume in your headphones? I normally keep my gain around 11 o’clock on the messenger (end of chain) running into my rig, but turned it to 2 o’clock listening through headphones last night to test out my Omni. The added gain accentuated the true bypass pops in my pedals in an unpleasant way, so it’s possible it could have amplified other signal nasties for you. For a moment, I thought something was horribly wrong with my setup, but then I realized what was happening. I double checked today and all was well when turning the gain down sans headphones.

Noise with headphones is often caused by a lack of grounding. Just to verify that is the issue, try plugging your board into an amp and see if the headphone noise goes away.
