Sure is fun to watch. The Capitals practice on a rink in a local mall. It’s free to watch, and as a bonus, they let you on the ice after the team is done, and you get to keep all the teeth you find.

Definitely the most exciting sport to watch live. Unfortunately for us, the tickets start @$90 at the Phone Booth. The players are grossly underpaid in comparison.

The Verizon Center only seats 20,000. It’s pretty cool in that the seating tiers rise precipitously; if you are in the nosebleed seats, your $25 Nachos can easily make it all the way to the Flyers fans seated rinkside.

Got a buddy who is blind. He’s a yooper and didn’t go blind until mid-30’s. He plays in a Blind League, and its pretty cool watching them guys. Who woulda thought this was a thing?

I got tagged into this thread because of my obnoxious colored Dingwall and stayed for the conversation.

Hockey is the best team sport.
A game played on a frozen puddle with the players wearing knives on their boots and chasing a frozen vulcanized rubber disc with sticks that could easily send you to the hospital. And it’s a contact sport so the very act of touching the puck can get you smashed into the boards or sent a$$ over kettle flying through the frigid air if you’re skating around with your head down watching said puck.

All other team sports pale in comparison.

Oh yeah, and fighting is not only legal but is encouraged under certain circumstances.

Or Australian Rules Football. As far as I can tell, the rules, such as they are, are just waved in the general direction of the players as a very mild suggestion.

I have to say, I don't think any other pedal has lived up to the overbuilt hype in my head the way the Calamity has. Yes, I am smitten. Yes, it's still the honeymoon. No, I don't care. It was well worth the wait and effort.

If you have an SSDI, I recommend setting it to beefy and run the Clam through it. My old guitarist had to get a boost after I surprised him with that combo.
