Don't despair. Brutes with the coil tap have way more tonal capability then anything in the price range.

As builders we have to carefully look at all the product offerings. You will notice, for example, that most other builders with import lines also do not offer every model exactly like the US built and customs, for that reason.

I didn't say never, just for now. PM me if you want to discuss.

So does that mean we won't get delivery of the new shipment of Brutes untl August sometime? Man this is like the Heinze Ketchup commercial. Sounds like the shipment will hit the USA while you guys are at NAMM. Then you have the QC and setup, then shipment to the dealers. Then shipemt from dealers to guys like me that have pre-ordered.

I'm having a three way coil splitter put in mine and will get a variety of sounds out of my instrument The only thing lacking would to be able to split coils in the friont. The front pickup by itself will give you a P-Bass sound.

I can get a JJ sound
P bass sound
run the front and MM parallel
run front and back series
run MM alone in series

not bad for a small inexpensive tweak

That's too funny. I'll have to take a picture with mine in overalls, a straw hat, and workboots.. hey sometime next week I'm just going to send you a copy of the show on CD at your place of work. Track 5 should have all the snippets you can get to show the power of a Brute Unleashed. I got down like Charlie Brown.

Don't mean to hijack this thread or nothing but...

I just pulled the trigger on a new Brubaker Brute MJX-4 in Matador Red (one of the last few of that discontinued color apparently). I got it for a good price (I'm not sure if I can mention prices here?)

The few videos I've seen sound pretty good. The bass seems very versatile. And from what I've read it'll be a killer bass.

Any thoughts from you experienced Brubaker-ites?

Welcome to the club. IMO Brutes are what's happening. You get a professional/killer sound for a decent price. The bass will sustain forever and the slap tone is awesome. And they are easy to play. Get a decent setup with the strings of your choice and watch what happens when you play it out. Everybody is going to want to check your bass out. If you like a modern, aggressive, sound then you made the right choice. Question, did you get the one with the upgraded electronics? You can tell by looking at the pickups. They'll have the white Brubaker logo on the treble side. It would also be worth having a three way coil splitter installed for the MM pickup so you can run it single/parallel/series. In single coil you'll get the Jazz bass sound. Series is a bigger fatter MM pickup sound. Parallel is the natural mode for this pickup. Add the blend knob and you'll come up with quite a few sounds this way.

I must say I bought this on a whim. I saw it, fell in love with how it looked and then sought out some YouTube videos. The sound blew me away. I know I did not make a mistake.

Put a coil splitter in it for the MM pickup and you'll capture the JJX sound as well. It should be a four wire pickup. Three way=series/paralle/single

Let me make a prediction for the future of Brubaker Brutes. Brubaker changes the JJX series of bass, and makes a Brubaker Brute Jazz Bass. Just like the original Brutes have a Brubaker Double Cut body shape the new version of the JJX will resemble Brubakers custom made Jazz Basses and have a traditional JB body shape. Ash Body, Brubaker electronics and preamp, maple board, same neck through bolt on construction. Winter NAMM 2014. Colors, White, Black, Natural, and Burst.

Hey guys, would anyone happen to have a Brubaker gig bag that they could send me the interior dimensions of? (length, body width at top and bottom). My friend is trying to see if his BO 4 string Warwick Thumb will fit in a Brubaker gig bag but my gig bag is on loan to another friend at the moment...
