Brutal Bassits club.

I really don't see why people think slayer are so brutal, no massive breakdowns, not even growling just yelling.

Metal existing long before the breakdown trend, and will exist long after the breakdown trend is gone. Slayer itself existed long before breakdowns, and will outlive most breakdown based bands.

While on the topic of bands, Why the Trivium hate?

Easy - because they totally, completely, absolutely suck.

isn't breakcore an absolute mentalist offshoot of drum and bass/jungle/idm/gabba, as espoused by the likes of Sh*tmat, Venetian Snares et al? as in mixing BREAKbeats and hardCORE (in a techno sense.) It's also pretty darned brutal...

Yes it is. I also saw the misuse of the word breakcore but let it slide. Glad you are caling it out. And yes it can be really brutal sounding. Xanopticon is insane sounding. A pseudo bridge from metal to breacore would be Hecate which is black metal breakcore.

it just so happens that hundreds of thousands of people love this so called "Bad Music". I get quite defencive when It comes to people slagging Trivium. I don't really like slayer, and other bands, Don't hear me saying they make bad music.:scowl:

Get used to it. Some people like to express their opinions, and sometimes they might think your favorite band sucks. It happens.

Actually, I don't hate Trivium's music. I just don't find it to be good. The only hate I have for any band is Phish.

Haha, fun thread.

Here is my new band, Invalid Link Removed

We have only been together a few months but starting to make some headway. FWIW, The guitarist from the Advent said we were the most brutal band he has seen besides All Shall Perish.

I agree. I seen you at beardcore fest 3 a couple weeks back.

Sick set, by the way.
