I really don't see why people think slayer are so brutal, no massive breakdowns, not even growling just yelling.
I know it is obviously contradicting, and while there may be a joke band or two, there is definitely a serious emerging scene of Christian Black Metal.
Horde, Frosthardr, Admonish, Crimson Moonlight, and Pantokrator are some of the bands in this scene.
I guess they are kind of brutal, really they are the original brutal. But other bands have just gone havier.

they were brutal brutal as a meaning gets changed every five years in music. Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, Carcass. All brutal ****. Yea it doesnt sound overproduced and effected like "insert long ass name here" or tuned to drop hades. Half of these other bands were ripping face in E standard. AND they knew the fretboard. Sorry, Hammer Smashed Face is WAYYY more brutal than any breakdown band I've ever heard and i've played and toured with plenty of the bands mentioned in this thread. And meshuggah still scares me when I put it in. Thats brutal. These others bands are tough as nails, no doubt. I play alot of styles.Thats my look to the roots of music rant , Im done. Bands listened in my post arent end all be all. There all sorts of great stuff out there. Dead to fall did it up right on chum fiesta. That was sick. My avatar shows my spector brutalness. Massive breakdowns. Dude has'nt that gotten old yet?? That breakdown stuff was so last decade hardcore. And it didn't have 808 drops everytime either. Ill admit White Chaple(superawesome vocals) and TTEOTD were cool like when we played legion shows together. Now its just boring.

My remark was more based on seeing all the Iron Maidein, Motley Crue Slayer poision shirts and its strickly for fashion to match tight jeans or basketball shorts for flop rock. I thrash all day headbanging. Im putting my time in.
I've only been in a Children of Bodom Circle pit. and a local bands wall of death. About the fashion thing, I only wear band shirts If I love the band.

hey stout- judging by your background I have to ask you your opinion on something- What do you think of using a standalone 2x15 cab for metal? Specifically the Hartke VX215(the paper cone one) with a 5500 head.
