Double Bass BSX Allegro pickup question

I have a 5 string BSX Allegro and I've had trouble with the pickup on the highest string. I've adjusted the individual volume adjustments in the back panel, but I've still had the same problem. Basically the volume of the highest string (I've used both low B and high C tuning) is lower than the rest of the strings no matter how I adjust it. Has anyone had a similar problem? Since this is a proprietary pickup, I'm not sure whether I can just take it in to a regular repair shop.

Try turning down the lower string trim pots.

Does anybody know if the pick ups can get weaker overtime? I’ve noticed recently that I’m having to turn my amp way up to get a usable sound. The battery tester says the battery is fine .
