Last year, I felt the need to get into a 6 string and ened up settling on an Ibanez BTB with Nordstand big single p'ups and a Bartolini pre-amp. I love the look and feel of the bass, but in the time between then and now I've cooled a bit on the tone and I'm curious about opinions for an electronics swap. I think it's the Bartolini EQ that's got me down- it's very treble-y and harsh, to the point that I always run the bass at a quarter turn up to smooth it out a bit. I would like a pre-amp (or pickups) that have a bit more baked in color, and that isn't quite so thin and surgical. Any recommendations? (Bass is below)
