The "gig bag" that Roger ships his masterpieces in puts every other gig bag you'll see to shame. Just like the bass that you will find inside does to other basses.

Roger’s Portabag is far more protective than a hard shell case. It’s heavy, though, and it’s hard to see that the bag is zipped shut. Make sure you double-check that it’s zipped before picking it up.

I much prefer the Mooradian gig bags that used to be an option for Sadowsky’s. Thankfully I have a couple of these from previous orders. They’re very light and functional, but well-padded and adequately protective for a self-carried bag.

At the risk of drifting away from a celebration of OP's gorgeous new bass, I would point out that after ~28 pages in this thread there's still no consensus over which type of case is more appropriate for an expensive boutique instrument.

This is actually very rigid for a 'bag', if you've ever had the chance to check it out. My basses always get transported in my Gruv Gear Kapsules anyway. Funny thing: Roger and I went back and forth on this for a bit. Believe it or not, he prefers the softer case over the hard/flight cases he offers. He could've gotten more money out of me for one of the hard ones and he didn't try to steer me toward that. Class act.

Congrats on the bass of a lifetime! Don't they ship in soft-shell cases instead of gig bags? I have one with Sadowsky on it that I bought without the bass. Protects as well as a hard-shell, if not better.

Yes, this is one of the Portabag soft shell cases. Very rigid!

That's how it goes with Sadowskys. After I got mine, the arsenal shrunk by about -65%.
