Clear nailpolish would dime the LED, a cloudy yet semi-transparent (semi-opaque?) makes a great dimmer for bright LEDs.
I've also used black paint to tame some overly-radiant little light emitters.

Scylla 27 seems good, I wonder what it's based on (the promo-ganda is that it's an original design).
I'd want to rehouse it with top-jacks, other than that, what a bargooonnn!


There's no mention on Joyo's website as to what type of compression circuit it employs — OTA, Optical... I'm thinking it's probably VCA...
Can someone please post a gutshot of their pedal? I couldn't find any gutshots online.

Having opened mine, I'm positive it's not optical. No optocoupler present anywhere. Like you said, probably vca.

Here you are. At last I've found the picture I took while diming leds in my Scylla.
Those OA are TI 2272C.

The way they build these is pretty fascinating. It's all modular. Power filtering and input output switching is all on the lower board. The upper board contains the effect circuit itself. They probably use the same lower board on all of these from this series.

Lower board is marked R-27. It's the same basic design concept but boards are dedicated, I suppose.
