Budget P basses with a jazz neck?

Cant go wrong with underated usa made basses.
Still thankful for the suggestions, some are hard to find to play hands on.

I also have an Ibanez GSR-200. For a $200 bass (new, retail), it is surprisingly well made. It is also *very* light - which I love. BUT - the neck is chunkier than my Jazz, which is a turn-off for me. I love the feel of a Jazz neck.

I was playing an old Peavey Dyna bass yesterday at GC, and when I solo'd the neck pickup, I got a very nice P tone from it.

can you bolt a jazz neck onto a mid 2k mim fender p and if so, can you get as slim of a neck but in a 24 fret version? Never really been a fender guy but since I have a couple of em now...

Fender Aerodyne Jazz. PJ pickups, jazz neck and super sexy as a bonus.

Then there's the old MIJ Jazz Specials. I paid $150 for one a few years ago, though the case was pretty much a writeoff. You have to keep an eye out for a good deal on these, though.

Here is my baby. It's the only P bass I have ever truly loved. MIM P bass with a MIM Geddy Lee neck and badass bridge.I bought a used MIM P for 350 and a used Geddy for 500. Swapped the neck and bridge and sold the parts bass for 300.So actually works out to 550, but worth every dime.

Just to clarify, are you specifically looking for a P-bass body or is a Jazz/Jaguar body with Precision pickups acceptable? If the either is fine, it would open up many more possibilities.

Standard p bass body but with a jazz width neck.

Off the top of my head, there are the aforementioned Squier P-Bass Specials, Fender Deluxe Active P's and the Squier Eva Gardner P. I think the discontinued P-Bass Lyte also had a Jazz-spec'd neck.

Saw the eva gardner bass. Just dont like the tort or the tattoos on it.

Thank you! This is the only P bass that I have ever enjoyed playing. I have always loved the P bass tone. but the neck...not so much!

It is an unorthodox means to an end, but works for me
