Budget rig(behringer inside):bassist:

everything ive experienced with and heard about bheringer has been 50/50. you can get a pritty good sound out of it for a really good price, but then on the flipside, they fall apart kinda easy and dont last that long. but still, thats only what ive experienced/heard over the past 2 years or so of owning one bheringer amp and frequent use of bheringer PA system and mics. but use your judgment, if it sounds good and its what you want, im not saying buy it or dont buy it, bass equipment is all about personal opinion

Teaser LOL.. Look behind the bass. :)

Really cool "Orange" cabinets :p

I found some test results about the A500, from some hifi-forum..
But if you are as stupid as I am, you probably don`t understand the results:hmm:
When I read further, there is higly praising comments about Behringer poweramps...

What do these results tell to someone with more knowledge

Thanks

As I use an Eden preamp and the power amps here are like 3k up so I started looking around for more realisticly priced amps. Behringer was one, QSC was another and Crown was what I bought.

The Crown here in Australia cost me a ridiculous $750. It's the XLS602 which is 370W(8) 600(4) per chanel.

It has been a flawless amp. Enough grunt to arc weld with and has everything you need but is a basic power amp. Perfect for me.

Despite people saying it can't be bridged, this is not the case, I have run it it bridge mode and it is fine. It doesn't get hot and has all the whoops protection as expected.

QSC have now released their switch mode power supply version which here is only $1250. Under 6Kg (about 13lbs) it's going to replace the crown only because of the weight savings.

My point of all this is that the Behringer was $100 bucks more here at the time but I believe the Crown is a better made and QC'd product.

In saying that I've had feedback that Behringer power amps aren't bad.

I've got a crown xls602 that I run bridged into a 4 ohm load as our front of house PA. 1680watts if I remember correctly..

Powers 2 2x15 cabs (8ohm each) with ease & plenty of headroom left... never gets hot either...

I don't know who said they couldn't be bridged.... Mines been fine for over a year now 2 nights a week......

Nice. So it is basically a 220W power amp. Thats what I have always suspected, roughly divide by two.

The others specs are very good. The frequency response is *very very* flat. -0.1dB to 0.6dB in the 20Hz to 20kHz range. Very much an audiophile amp.

So that "both channels driven" means bridged to mono?

If so, sad.. Becoase 220w seems not to be enough for about anything.. (attleast if you listen to the talk in TB)
Behringer claims 230w per chanel and 500w bridged to mono..

Thanks for the translation btw. :p
So it is good amp if 220w is enough..

Yea, but remember this as well, its not designed to be a bass amp, its made for studio applications.

Good job OP for showing behringers quality. They are truly amazing. I now use the BB210, BB115 and the BX4500H as my current setup (I painted the baffles orange too :bassist: ) I plan on buying V-amp sooner or later. but until then, I like behringer a lot.
