It works, but I had trouble finding a preamp with enough omph. I could probably gig with it if I added another cab, but I hate pushing equipment to the limit.

To give an example, my Acoustic 370 was at about 3 into the same cab in the same room. The 370 is probably only 150W or so into 8 ohms.

Are you sure you had the Behringer amp and your speaker cable setup properly for bridging? I run an EP1500 bridged behind a Bass Vamp Pro into a 2x10 and 1x15 and it can get silly loud. When i go single cab i just use the 1x15 its great for the smaller rooms.

I'll take the Behringer amps over the Crown XLS and Tapco any day. I don't like the was the Crowns bridge and I ahve found the Tapcos (juice series which are a QSC clone made by Sekakku - Chinese OEM factory) to be very weak and thermal easy.

Stick with the EP1500, or if you want to go up, grab the EP2500 :bassist: They work great with the Bass V-amp Pro

Both solid amps. My first EP1500 was almost 3 years old and still working perfect when it was stolen. My current EP1500 I have had for over a year now with no problems. We use 2 EP2500s in our PA that are both going on 3 years and have never missed a beat.

I have a banana plug to speakon speaker cable and use the middle two (red) banana jacks on the EP1500. It did help when I followed the instructions on the back of the amp, not the instructions in the manual. For once, don't read the manual :rollno:

I bought the EP1500 as a cheap backup for my iAMP500. Unfortunately, it is just not loud enough to use in a gig situation. I wonder if I just got a dud.

I had the Bass V-Amp Pro, it never did work properly and spent more time with the service techs so after a year of frustration I got a refund and bought the real thing 'Bass Pod XT Pro'.
Behringer are notorious for poor backup, few major UK stores will stock them.

Warning, that is 500 Behringer Watts. Unless it says Watts RMS, do not trust it. Behringer admits that all its pro audio gear has non-standard watt measurements.

Question was if anyone had tried it. Unless it's been tried, tested, and maybe even measured, we should be careful about bashing. It looks like a nice reference amp, and much of the Behringer stuff actually does a very good job (at least) at what it is designed to do.

I have close to 20 pieces of Behringer gear. 1 failure, a UB802 mixer that was left on 24hrs a day for over a year hooked up to my computer for practicing. It actually still works for that but the two XLR inputs developed problems. Its replacement has been working fine (in the same situation) for over a year now.

My DDX3216 Digital mixer got spiked by a faulty (confirmed) Furman Rack unit. It was over a year old (out of factory warranty) but i had the extended warranty from Musicians Friend. When the repair shop that Musicians Friend had me send it to could not repair it, I contacted Behringer and they had me ship it to another repair center (Audio Electronics in Dallas) who not only repaired it, but also upgraded the powersupply and some of the other power related components. Behringer covered EVERYTHING including shipping both ways, I had it back in 2 weeks.

Needless to say, the only problem I have had with my all Behringer bass rig is the memory battery in the Bass V-Amp Pro dying. And that only cost $3 and 5 minutes to correct.
