Ok...Ok...Ok..... ;)

Here are some pics when I got it home, it still has some wax residue on the unfinished spots, nonetheless, here they are:
(I will need to dremel out the cavity cover and pickup route areas a little).

Lead singer in my band, He's done plenty of auto painting. He said he was about 98% proud of this finish, especially since it was his first instrument. Advil was there for reflection purposes.

Alright, she's put back together now and not too much fine tuning necessary. Action is nice and low, pups are at the right height. Things I need to do a bit later:
* drill out 2 brass dots on the side of the fingerboard I wasn't happy with.

* Put some more coats of wipe on poly on the neck.


Had to grind out some of the finish in the pup cavities:

I keep being impressed by the customs here on TB. Definitely my favorite headless I've seen! The finish is so cool! The black hardware and FB definitely help set it out. I think you built it upside down though. ;)

The bass looks badass. Now the only thing left to wonder is how it sounds. :smug:

Seriously, I love the way it turned out, the fretboard looks very clean and the finish is just downright stunning. If I haven't seen the pictorial of the building, I'd almost say the bass has been shopped into the picture, gloss and all. :p

Wow, simply wow!!!! Congratulations!

I agree with a previous poster, sound clips would be greatly appreciated!!!

BTW, I provided a link for this thread to a guitar playing buddy who's Father-in-law is building him a Les Paul style guitar. They are a bit intimidated by the task of creating a sunburst finish and I think you've shown them the way!

Just now getting a chance to get it set up, a little bit of relief on the neck, get it intonated (not that I may need it, but I might ;) )
pup heights. Etc.... Put some chromes on it, it was crying for some flats.There are some clips a few pages back, but I'll do some more shortly.
