Nice work dude. Awesome build, really glad you documented and shared the process. And as a southpaw who plays bass with my strong hand on the fingerboard, I can appreciate the orientation even though I don't play that way. 
really inspiring. just bought my first home and am trying to set up my garage to get ready to take on a project like that...if the house work ever calms down a bit.
I just typically take it in stages, get in extended times,when I can. Just set yourself some fairly realistic goals and just remember, If you take your time, it'll come out 10x better, than rushing it.

I've been gigging with it, but I will need to level the fingerboard out some more, then sound clips.

July 19th, eh? I'll check the calendar, it's been challenging with a 10 week old son,plus building a..............demo guitar
Yeah not exactly a bass this build, but perhaps in the next few, i'll get to build another.

Yeah, i figured that. The neck is now settling into place, so shouldn't be too long until i re-level up the fingerboard.
