My last name: Rickett
Apparently German and English roots, or so I've heard.
Originally spelled with an "S" at the end before the late 1800's.
Ancestry of the last name can be traced all the way back to about 1640-1650, when the first ancestor got off the boat in America.
Why not a four leaf
It'll look great. F-bassy, though it doesn't look like that at all. Haha
It's actually a shamrock, so it's only 3 technically.
My Wife is of Irish heritage actually only Irish.

Received picture mail from the "Finish Man". Pic didn't really make out so well on my phone though, I told him to take a real pic, dammit........ He said he got 6 coats on it, with no issues. He said he'll do the final sanding on sunday.
It'll be photographed by a pro, when it's all said, done, assembled and so forth. Those are the photos I want to see......
Very well made bass. Awesome job. Personally i probably wouldn't have used EMG's, but i have never really liked them. Fantastic job none the less.

I had never tried EMG's on a fretless, glad I did, it does actually sound good.I just don't favor the current frenzy of Nord's, Delano, Liny's SD,etc.... Besides, this will be paired with my Spector euro (which has Identical pups and electronics). I did really like the Barts on my other fretless, but with the drive and distortion I use live, had too much feedback, compared to the EMG's, even with the highs maxed (Absolutely no feedback with the EMG's).

Steinberger does the same thing (or used to.). The head piece wouldn't have made a very good nut alone.
Yeah, but instead you could have made a "bump" or a nut out of ebony, or any other wood. I don't know the sound of a zero fret on a fretless bass, but I think it wouldn't fit in with the "fretted" notes so nicely...
If I ever do another fretless, I may try that out. But all in all, the open notes are not much stronger than fingered notes, at least to my ears.

I may get it back this evening or perhaps tomorrow.
He did the final sanding last night and buffed it today.
I'll need to break out the dremel, for the pup routes (they were very tight as it were). Hopefully, I'll have her dressed up this weekend. I also need to arrange the photographer to take pics of it too.
can't you just take some normal photos first because I'm dyin to see this thing! And you don't take half bad pictures either.
