Build II - Paradox MJ5 - New design!

Finally, after a little over one and a half year, my Paradox J5 is finished! It looks the part and it plays like butter... I'm very pleased with my new dream bass!

Here's part one of three of the final wrap up of this thread (sound clip and video will folow):

On my things to do list are some little fine tuning tasks like some fret dressing, adjusting nut slot depth and such.. but that's something I'll do over the next few weeks...

I am in no hurry to get it perfect :smug:

Thank you guys!!! And thanks again for all your help and support!

That is without a doubt the best jazz like bass I have ever seen. Can I get a 4 string with an ebony FB, and the same finish?

Thanks!! Haha.. the same finish? That'll cost you! Think I spent three months on finishing alone :smug:, but I guess it might go a bit quicker next time if the experience gathered will pay off.

Rob,

Stunning. Those pictures look like they are right out of a magazine. That thing is dashing in every way. You gotta be proud of that work!

Lonnybass

Thank you Lonny, great to hear that from you :smug:. I am indeed, very proud! But also greatful for the things I've learned during building from you and other TB members.

Thanks!! It is indeed a bed sheet, I took the photos outside on my 'router table' with a bed sheet over it.

The forearm contour isn't really necessary with the small body and deep waist. I think it plays very well and I do not notice a difference regarding that point compared to a regular jazz bass e.g. (although that model does need it IMO).
