Building a small "travel" amp

Oh, I DO have tons of working adapters that I can use for this kind of stuff. We save stuff here in Serbia. Whenever you get a new electronic device you get some kind of power supply with it. Device dies, power supply continues its life connected to something else.

I thought you might have some power supplies piled up. My comment was more of a reply to BassmanPaul than advice to you. I'll admit I went into more detail which I thought you or someone with similar intent might benefit from. It does sound like you have this mostly figured out. I'm still concerned that you might not get the best volume from this since it sounds like there might be a mismatch between the guitar output and the amplifier input. I doubt you'll damage anything, and you might be happy with the result, I'm just thinking it might be less than optimal. If it works for you though then that's all that matters.

Something like this might manage alright. It has mic- level 1/4" inputs, and is usb rechargeable. Oooooh, and it has lights (and ECHO)!!! Only a few pounds, but is about the size of a combo amp, so not super easy to lug around with a bunch of other stuff. I actually am curious about this myself for busking.

Have a bucket of water if something goes on fire

I know we've been joking back and forth over this but I have a serious comment. Water is bad for electrical fires. What is a good solution, and cheap, is sand or baking soda. Baking soda, or sodium bicarbonate, is commonly used in fire extinguishers for kitchens, boats, and cars. It smothers the fire and neutralizes acids leaking from batteries, and doesn't conduct electricity. Sand is good because it dissipates the heat and enough will smother the fire, it doesn't react with anything like the baking soda but it's also as cheap as dirt. If you have a battery fire, as in the metal itself is burning, then salt is probably good. Just common sodium chloride is what's used in commercial extinguishers for aluminum and magnesium fires.

So, my recommendation, is to go to a local grocer and get a box of baking soda and a box of salt. If you have a fire then cut the power and pour on some baking soda. If that's not working then try pouring on salt. If that doesn't work then leave the area and call the professionals.

You can try putting out the fire with water but be prepared to make a huge mess and use a lot of water. Salt, baking soda, and sand can just be swept up but water runs everywhere.

It's been a long time since I posted this thread. I ordered a board, it came and it did not work. I asked for refund and now I ordered a Yamaha board from Aliexpress and it will arrive next year. XD In meantime I expect some money for Christmas (7th January) that I will spend for good JVC speakers.

Wow, I have to revive this thread. This thing works, and is loud enough for practicing, nothing flashy, but loud enough. Now i just need to build some kind of casing and get some rechargeable batteries to make it mobile.
