Built a Bass today

I had a 15 year old NOS Mighty-Mite Body. All the rest of the parts are from a 2011 USA AMerican Special. I added the Delanos. This baby came out sweet and thumps very nicely.

All in a days work, eh? Sweet! And the grain of that fretboard is killer. Just one question, though; What James Bond villain did you jack those doomsday-weapon-grade-magnets from?! I can only assume you're plugged into a Doc Brown Signature Series wall-amp.

Thanks, Those are the Delanos that I believe were made popular on Sandberg Basses. They're pretty stout. I honestly may swap in a set of Dimarzios. I was hoping for just a bit more Bottom end.

Thank you. I do like the openness of the Delano's. They are more "Hi-Fi" than Stock Fenders IMO. When I bought the Red Body, It came with a new set of Dimarzio's. I am tempted to try them out. It's a good time to do an A/B test. I will probably Gig my Ric again at my next show but Maybe.....

I like it! Speaking of grain, I've noticed by browsing the inventory of that "one ebay dealer that everybody knows about" that "Special" necks have more interesting grain patterns on their boards than "American Standards"

I've noticed that. I personally prefer the Specials to the Standards. It's like reverse Psychology because the Standards cost more than the Specials.
