pklima, if keeping the lines square to the body is a problem, you could try putting it at an angle on purpose. Say, around 30 degrees. Then it would look like it was on purpose AND you wouldn't have to worry about lining it up with anything.

While playing the instrument, the angle could give a suggestion of looking like you had a Burberry (or whatever) sash on.

Well, it was a problem. I solved it another way - by putting a line of masking tape down, then taping the body down so that tape was aligned with the body's centerline.

I still don't think I could do a pickguard that's matched to the pattern on the body, but I don't want to go all luthier's corner on this thread.

I'd probably have to get it printed on some paper or vinyl, but sure, I could. And you can, too! Seriously, it's not that hard.

Looks pretty kool man! I would have skipped the Burberry tags though...

Of course, that's a matter of whether you want it to look like a Peavey bass with a Burberry finish or a Burberry bass. I like the tags - they make it obvious that yes, I really did cut up an article of luxury clothing for this and therefore yes, I do probably have more money than taste.
