Burberry basses - they're real, now what?

LOL, that's pretty much what I'm going for. I want basses that girls who don't know much about instruments but are into fashion will think are pretty cool.
Also, I should thank my drummer for helping me put the second one together.

Ok. Next bass. Oddly enough, I know what the PERFECT candidate is. Some kind of Ric. Gotta be a Ric. Ric copy? Ric that's inop? Trust me, do a Ric.
I nominate a Schecter C-4 for the Burberry treatment. They are relatively inexpensive, play well and have binding.
The creepiest thing about this isn't the strange pants length or the obvious genetically deficient stares they all posess. It's the head tilt. That's creepy.

Thanks, that's the biggest improvement from the first to the second bass. With the first one I put the fabric on the bass and realized I have no way of aligning it to the body because I can't see the body anymore. So I went by trying to feel the edge of the pickup cavity and ended up "close enough for government work" but crooked. With the second one I put a line of masking tape down on some cardboard, taped the bass down so that it would be aligned with that line, and that really helped.
Oh man. I have a Killer Simmony which is a sort of fashion-designery-looking-Ric. It would be totally perfect, but like the Fender Aerodynes it's just too nice. Plus it might be the only one in this country except for a homemade fake. I can't do anything irreversible to it.
Not a bad idea, but the top is contoured and I'm not confident I could keep things straight. But, putting the above two ideas together, maybe a Schecter 004? I'm not sure if they really have binding but the top is flat except for around the cutaway, the edges look pretty square, and they're sort of Ric-shaped.
That would be a great idea for a more old-fashioned bass. Say, a Gretsch Plaid Falcon?
I did some digging and Photoshopping yesterday to see what the options for bass #3 are. So, basically, inexpensive basses with binding or at least square edges, and no concave curves in the top.
I don't like Explorers or flying Vs. Plaid on them somehow looks ironic. Jazzes with a control plate and no pickguard don't really work, either - the plate looks really out of place.
Ibanez SRX, Ibanez Roadstar or Schecter 004/Stargazer would all work nicely. More Ricky shapes would work, too, if I can find a decent cheap copy with a 34" scale neck.
Retrovibe Aero (vague Aerodyne copy, doesn't have the awesome curved top but has binding), some 51-style Precision copy or a cheap T-Bird would work fine too but plaid with shorter, thicker horns ends up looking more square than more modern basses. There's probably a really cool way to take advantage of the T-Bird's raised top, but I haven't figured it out yet.
So, time to start hunting for the next victim. I also took more pictures of bass #2, but I think they're more bass humor material than basses material, so better not post them here. Not sure if I should even post them there.

Update: next victim will be a Vintage EST96, or a Stingray copy in natural finish. No binding, but has a natural finish which I think I can deal with - if I shave or scrape the finish while trimming the edges it shouldn't be a big deal because I'm gonna spray over it with clear lacquer anyway.

Fendi made a few guitars, but they were one-offs. I don't think there's a real market for actual luxury fashion brand instruments at luxury fashion prices, LOL.
But there is a bit of a market for gluing used luxury fashion items to cheap instruments - now one of my singers wants me to do this to her guitar also.

I really think the blue burberry has potential if you played around with it a bit more. Just my opinion though. Btw Ibanez Gio is a super cheap basss to play around with.
I do have enough of the black/blue fabric left to do a pickguard or some kind of headless Steinberger copy. Maybe someday a pickguard and headstock on a baby blue/sky blue bass?
So, it looks like there's gonna be a third one of these soon. The Vintage EST96 got turned into an Armani bass instead, but I just sold the second Burberry one to a punk bassist from France. Time to hunt for another victim. I'm starting to feel like I could do a bass with a lightly countoured top, so maybe something like a Schecter C-4 or Cort C-4H would be perfect.
Probably the scariest thing is that it's not hard to sell these. I'm not making enough money to get anywhere near minimum wage, but it is enough fund a slightly fancier victim the next time.
