Bus Beheading...

what should be done is the chair, gas, shootings, hangings, hell, even the guillotine or burning at the steak
Freudian slip, perchance? :D

Actually, all those methods are quick and relatively painless.

I've long thought that perhaps we should take a single page from the Muslim world, and use public beheadings, or better yet, public stonings. Do them en masse, in a stadium, and encourage off-track betting. Could go a long way in eliminating the national debt, or at least offsetting the cost of keeping these scumbags alive for 15-20 years. And don't let them know their execution date, that's just wrong. Send them to forced labor camps, making sand or something. Then one day, assign them to dig a hole, pop them in it, and let the games begin! :D

Also, I'm of the belief that they should televise all executions. If you want to offset the costs of doing that, I suppose you could make it pay-per-view, but the whole deterrent argument hinges on people knowing, and I mean really KNOWING, what's in store for them if they do something that warrants this kind of attention. So let the people know how their tax dollars are being spent!

I LIKE it!

Absolutely. I can see that. Plus, if the offending (offensive?) party wishes for, and asks for, death- accomodate his wishes in the same manner as his/her trial- they should have the right to a speedy and painful death.

People might think it barbaric, but hey, we're just helping them out, right? They specifically ask for it, they specifically should get their wish.

In the animal world, no species commits the atrocities against their fellow species like humans do. Malice just doesn't exist in their world as it does in ours. There is always an extenuating circumstance for one animal killing another, be it for food source (though cannibalism is rare in the animal world), for leadership succession, for preventing disease from spreading (doesn't always work), there is always a reason behind death in the animal kingdom. Not so in the human realm, where evil is sometimes the only motivation.

I'm all for punishments being made to fit the crime. I also think it's insane that if you're caught selling pot it's 10+ years in jail ( 20+?). You can kill somone and literally be out in 5 years.....what did I miss??

George Carlin had the best ideas on how to deal with these offenders. Enclose a huge piece of land and let everyone just run around and do their thing away from society. It'll regulate itself eventually.

As far as slow painful public torture and death goes. Sure it sounds like fun and games, even more so if theres a ring toss! When you've actually watched someone die let me know if this still appeals to you.

Crucifixion would suck, no doubt about it. Look Midieval torture and see what comes up. Cool how many neat ways they came up with killing religious adversaries while every other technological advancement fell by the wayside. Once again, it's why I don't like people.
