Buyers advice/squire jazz

I have a VM V that I bought new a couple years ago. I don’t have the URLs handy, but in my research before buying I read in multiple places the blocks are inlays; they’re not decals.

Good luck. The one I found was really good looking (more natural than butterscotch), resonating acoustically and perfect setup.

There are two ads right now in my local CL for squire j basses. The price on these seems too good to be true. Average pricing in my area seems to be about a hundred or 2 more than this. Any tips on what to look for on these?

That's about right for VM Series Basses. Classic Vibes tend to go in the $300-$325 range on Reverb. MIM JBasses average closer to $400.

Dang, for a minute there I thought you were local to me. I have a Squier '77 Vintage Modified Jazz for sale for $225 and a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass V for $250. I'd say the prices are just about right.

Can't go wrong with either. Both are great basses. Although, the VM Jazz 5 is boat-anchor heavy. At least the one I had was. North of 10 lbs.

I was at the music store a couple of days ago and on the wall was a Squire Jazz bass . I gave it a try and I have to say it is a pretty good bass . It felt and sounded just like the Fender that it is . It had active/passive set up and sounded pretty good both ways . The Fender/Squire brand can't be that bad when you see Steve Rothery(Marillion) using a Squire Strat .
