Buying bass while in Japan, how to get back...

There are a few shops in Shibuya. I would check out Kurosawa Gakki and Ikebe Gakki as well if you're looking for something fancy. I was drooling all over.
I was glad to have the opportunity to post those pics, so thank YOU! Please let us know what you end up with, and share the pics too.

Remember, Bass Collection Shibuya is right outside Shibuya station. And you shouldn't have any trouble finding it - look for the 2-story Ken Smith 7 string.
Who could even play that? It must have taken about 10 trees to make and 20 tons of steel for the strings.
Oh, wait, it's in Japan, It must be godzilla's bass.
And after seeing all of those bass shop pics, I feel a strong urge to go to Japan.

They have tons of basses, however, as the pics show, loaded with Fender and US brands. For me, its about shopping for stuff I CAN'T get here, like Japanese Fenders with medium scales, Atlantsia, maybe old Matsumoku stuff. I'm not sure how much of that you will find.
You are looking for a Danelectro? I'm not so sure it will be cheaper there. New ones are made overseas but get here as cheap if not cheaper.
If you are looking for vintage, then you can find many great deals here even.

There just seems to be a large concentration of vintage Fenders and Gibsons in the Tokyo area. If the OP gets there (from Oz, as I recall) he will be able to try out more basses during less time spent than anywhere in Australia. Vintage Danelectros, too, I suppose. The newer Danos are also made in the Far East, so they ought to be in plenty.
