So im at the moment looking for a new bass and i have been looking at the Isibashi store. But is it safe to buy here? And does anyone have any experience with buying at this site.?

Buying basses at Ishibashi ?

There are a few people who have bought from them that I'm sure will chime in with details. I think they have an eBay store that's probably easier to deal with than their website.

Saw a post here in the UK yesterday. Fella ordered his bass from Ishi on the Monday,paid the UK duty fee online Tuesday then got a call from the delivery
driver on the Wednesday asking if he was home. He wasn't so picked it up from the depot later on Wednesday afternoon.
2 days delivery Japan to England !! now that's impressive.
Also heard from a buyer on here that when his bass was being packed some marks were spotted. They refused to ship the bass until emails were sent with photos
and the buyer was aware and accepted the marks,he also got a discount. Reputation is very important in Japan.
So they don't accept payment other JPY. 1000 Yen is roughly $8.40 and has been for the last 12 months.

I bought several basses from Ishibashi. Their service is more than excellent, e.g., one of the basses I've ordered was not sufficiently good in their opinion. They sent me detail pictures of the defects and asked me whether I would confirm my order. Payment by Visa/Mastercard is no problem. Be carefull however with transportation cost and taxes you will have to pay in your country. As far as I remember, transport is around 150 € to France. French taxes are 19.6 % on the total cost. Count 8/10 days delivery time (depending on efficiency of Customs services). Great to purchase second hands basses not available outside of Japan ( Bacchus, some Fenders or Lakland, Edwards, etc..)
I've bought two new Fender (non-export) basses from them in the past. Both instruments arrived quickly and without any issues.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.

I've bought lots of guitars/basses from Ishibashi. They have great prices and super quick shipping. I received one bass with a large ding on it. Considering how they package their product, the bass had to have had the ding when it was packed. They claimed it was inspected and perfect when it left, and told me to file a claim with the shipping company. It left Japan on their postal service, and came to my door on USPS, and there was no damage to the packaging that I could see, so I didn't see any point in filing a claim.
The shipping back to them was going to be $100 or so, so I just lived with it.

I bought a new Fender Japan bass from Ishibashi last spring. My experience was 100% positive and I would definitely recommend them. However... Their web site now has a note saying: "We can not deal with brand new items for international orders."

So if it is used, you are probably OK. And they have a good used collection ("U-box"). If you are after a new bass, possibly not?

I went to their site and searched for ebay: VISUAL KEI, -BUCK-TICK items in ishibashimusic store on eBay! - nothing for sale currently, though, but you could subscribe?
Ordered through email, no problem getting what I wanted, transaction went smoothly and bass arrived safely. When I had a concern a few months later they responded quickly, better service than some domestic options. If I wanted something from them again I wouldn't hesitate, great group.
