Buying my first "great" bass, stuck between two

hmmmmm.......´rays are great,but if u r already playing an Ibanez I would checkout an Ibanez atk300 that sounds just like a cross between a jazz and a stingray and spend the money you would save on upgrading your amp.I tried a ´ray, a fender jazz and the atk did what they both do!

i personally found the marcus miller a bit uncomfortable to play (maybe because of all the plastic crap they have over the fret board at the music store). i would pick the music man ANY day. especially the dark cherry burst

I thought the M. Miller sounded great but I couldn't get over the lacquered neck. On the other hand, I love the feel of the SR4 necks.

My personal opinion would be the MM Jazz Bass, you can also get a very fat sound out of them. Just my opinion.

i voted for the marcus but for the same price id just buy a Spector Rebop. The neck is right in between both and the electronics are just as versatile as the two.

+1. I respect Fender but I haven't found the love on one of their basses yet. I'm sure there are some out there I'd love, but I haven't had it in my hands yet. On the other hand, I do have two EBMMs. Didn't start there - went through multiple Fenders first. But there you go.

Marcus Miller. The blocks, and the crazy range of tones gives it my vote.

Find yourself a nice used USA G&L L2000, and then call it a day.

Or order one new, and you'll have your choice of woods and neck sizes.

Either way, tons of versatility.
