Buying my first "great" bass, stuck between two

i personally found the marcus miller a bit uncomfortable to play (maybe because of all the plastic crap they have over the fret board at the music store). i would pick the music man ANY day. especially the dark cherry burst :)

I thought the M. Miller sounded great but I couldn't get over the lacquered neck. On the other hand, I love the feel of the SR4 necks.

+1. I respect Fender but I haven't found the love on one of their basses yet. I'm sure there are some out there I'd love, but I haven't had it in my hands yet. On the other hand, I do have two EBMMs. Didn't start there - went through multiple Fenders first. But there you go.
