Buzz from boosting treble

I recently got a new to me Carvin LB75, when I brought it home it was string with flats and I have since changed to DR Lo Riders. After changing the strings there is a buzz I hear coming trough my amp when I boost the treble past the center detent. The control cavity is shielded in copper and no wires seem to be loose. Any other thoughts?

Your story is making it seem like the strings have something to do with it, which makes no sense. Just to eliminate them as a problem, you should change them back to make sure that the buzz is not related to the string change.

Is just a coincidence.... Something in the environment is likely causing the buzz.

Move your amp to another location (room in the house) and use a different circuit for starters.

Yerp...sounds like a ground loop problem...just crank your amp really loud and you wont hear it anymore...only kidding.

Does sound normal to me though...as others said try a different outlet...power can be really dirty sometimes and you are simply cranking those high pitch frequencies.

Question though....why did you crank the treble with new strings..are they not bright enough?

I've boosted the treble just trying different settings because I've only had the bass a few weeks. I don't have the old strings anymore. I will try a new outlet though I don't think it will change because I used the bass at church on there amp and it was still buzzing. I've read about "bad pots" but I'm not exactly sure what a pot is.
