Buzz... STRAP LOCKS!!!

So the last couple days I have noticed a constant buzz on the e string but especially on the open E. It's as if the entire body was buzzing. At first I thought: NO! BROKEN HARDWARE! but then, just now (after an hour of fiddling with string height/setup/etc...), I took off the Fender strap locks that I have just recently put on. The result? The buzz across the whole fretboard vanished! I realized that the strap locks were a little loose even at their tightest setting - it's the kind where you kind of hold part of it and push the rest down to unlock if that makes sense.

Oh well... I guess I'll just use those on my stratocaster...

Not sure if this is relevant to anyone's situation but it's funny how sometimes the problem ends up being the last thing you think of or even discover by accident.

Good day (or night, depending on where you are) my fellow bassists.

"it's the kind where you kind of hold part of it and push the rest down to unlock if that makes sense."
doesn't sound like the Schaller style.
Schallers and Fender Schallers have a button to 'pull up' to release.
