Buzzard's bass shop?

Does anyone who ordered from Buzzards recently have any updates to post on their experiences?

I ordered a pickguard and some other stuff from Buzzard's and everything worked out great. His price for the pickguard was $10 cheaper than if I got it directly from WDMusic.com, which is where it is from. And a perfect fit on my GL J bass. I ordered on 2/8 and it shipped on 2/14. Freight for my whole order was $11.45... Freight from WD for just the pickguard would have been $12.34...So I have absolutely no complaints about Brian. :D

I purchased a Bass and setup from Brian and have nothing but the best to say about him. I will even pay for shipping from Colorado to have him service it. Don't believe every thing you read here, make up your own mind, I took the positive caring posts much more seriously than the complaints. Dusty

Interesting that this is the ONLY post you've ever made, and it was done on the same day you joined.

What kind of bass did you buy?

I ordered a pick guard and bridge from him. Quick enough service but honestly I was treated like an idiot through the whole process. He obviously had some issues with customers in the past so now feels everyone is stupid and actively trying to find some way to make his life difficult. I will not be demoralized like that again and will shop elsewhere in the future even if I have to spend more.

Brian has a link to this forum on his website so I was following posts about Buzzards before I purchased from him and before I joined the forum. I bought a Douglas Violin style, left hand with case and flat wound strings. For the standard setup price as listed in the description he upgraded the electronics and grounded the bridge. He asked for no more money and shipped the bass as promised. He enclosed the replaced pots and plug with a description of the work performed. I felt I owed him for at least the replaced parts so I sent him some more money, he earned it in my opinion. The point is, I have had musicians with a vast amount more experience and talent than I possess tell me they feel I received an excellent value. For me, I would not hesitate to work with Brian again. Brian at Buzzard's has sent me some of the nastiest e-mails I have ever received. The 'soup nazi' vibe is mildly entertaining at first but quickly becomes tedious. If you can't find a part anywhere else, give him a try, but here's a sample of a recent e-mail:

"At any rate, do you think YOU are the ONLY person I deal with on a daily basis? There are DOZENS of different email that I deal with every day. All I asked is for you to spell out in your email what you needed. SIMPLE? Yes. But did you do that? NO"

"I am not here to play guessing games with anyone, and as far as a 5AM response to you . . . have you ever worked a business that required you to stay awake for DAYS at a time? That is what I have to do. Again, YOU are not the only person I deal with daily. And all I asked from you at 5AM this morning was a simpl;e statement of what you need."

"I DO NOT NEED OR WANT YOU TO RETURN ANYTHING. YOU ORDERED THE PARTS YOU HAVE. Understrand? Now I'm pissed off. See the difference? I am not acceptiung any more exchanges or returns with you. UNDERSTAND?"

Trust me folks, I very clearly spelled out what I needed, he screwed it up again and again. His whole program seems like a cry for help to me.

So yeah, bassers beware....

i was going to order some nylon tuner bushings from Buzzards since they were one of the only places that had them listed. They were $2.95 + $12 shipping. I ended up going to BasspartsResource and ordering them there for the same price but only $3 shipping

Whelp, I'd never do business again with someone who said this to me--no matter what the circumstances.
