Sounds like it. I love to play with synth pedals, and once in a while I actually have a need for a synthy bass sound in a band. Most of my practical needs for that were taken care of with distortion of some sort and an analog octave pedal. Tried a lot of different OD's and they all sound great, but for my tastes, plain old OC-2 is king for building cool synth bass sounds. Got an awesome Devo "Whip It" sound with that combination by mixing the clean sound back a bit from the oct down and adding mild OD. Then I could add the clean back in and get a great sound for "Let's Groove Tonight" by Earth Wind and Fire (yes, I have played in bands that have done both, although "Whip It" far less, unfortunately).
C4 sounds like a killer pedal. Haven't got one, but it's way far advanced from typical bass synth stompboxes, which I think sound totally cheesy till you add other pedals to them. But unless you get everything on presets you're happy with, I'd highly recommend putting it or any other synth pedals you might try on a stand. Really hard to change stuff on the fly without it being up from the floor, especially on a dimly lit stage.
That said, there's a lot to be said about natural bass sounds as well, so you ought to have a really good variety of sounds for you to have fun with.
