As are car stereo and DIY hi-fi grills, available in small diameters -- the 'bug-eye' or 'waffle' grills so disliked by some. Presuming the port in question actually is round, of course.

I recently had my car keys fall inside my bass amp through the port hole, and had to remove the speaker to get them out. I'd like to prevent this in the future - is there already a product I can use to cover it and still have it work as a port?

it’s finally time to ask the one salient question here.

How the hell do you have your car keys fall into your amp in the first place???

The only way I can think of is, if you put the keys on your amp when it was face down in your car for loading or unloading.

You don’t need to cover your amp ports.
You need to put your keys in your pocket!!!

Actually, funny story..

I was recently installing a port cover on the back of my speaker cab and dropped the screwdriver in the cab.
I tried shaking it around upside down, like when you drop a pick in an acoustic guitar but, given my speaker weighs 98 pounds all I did was strain my neck and shoulders rather badly.
Undeterred, I thought I would remove the speaker to get my screwdriver back.
I tried using the point of my car key, I got one screw out but badly marred the rest. I’ve now also damaged my car key and can’t unlock the PT Cruiser (daily driver)
Given that I’m now running late for the gig I think the best course of action is to throw my speaker through a window so I can get into the car. Oh, wait, I messed up my shoulder…

When an elevator door opens there’s a small narrow crack running the length of the door. Someone I know dropped their keys down there, a million to one shot I thought. It turns out that elevators have a basket attached to the car. A technician fetched it next time it was serviced. Seems that all kinds of things make it into those baskets.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea to design a “basket” located inside the cabinet at the end of the port. It would maintain a clean visual. I hear too many stories of things and critters getting into cabinets via the port.
