I'm putting together my first pedalboard. I was wondering what patchcables you use to connect your pedals.

There are quite a few good out there. I personally use a mix of the Disaster Area solderless patches, EBS flat patches and George L solderless.

All of these are good to great. If I had to do it over again, I would just use the Disaster Area and EBS though. The George Ls are pretty good, but they almost always go bad after months or a year pass and I have to redo/repair them. I test all them at least a few times a year since I got them. But the Disaster Areas haven't let me down once yet and I've been using them for over a year now. Really simple to assemble too.

Don't recall honestly, some cheap budget patch cables in all kind of colors, one black one in the rather expensive end of the price spectra and finally a couple of patch cables I made by using solderless George L cables and jack plugs.

They all seem to work just fine without any unwanted artifacts that I know of, I can warmly recommend using the solderless variant though of whatever brand you may fancy since they are extremely easy to make, fix if they go bad and not least for the reason that you can make them any length you may desire.

I've had good success with Planet Waves (don't know about newer versions) and currently have George L's.

I find the George L's are harder to get right, and reliability is dependent on assembly and if they are able to bounce around.

I use EBS Flat Cables They work fine had them on my board for a few months and have not had any Issues at all.

Buy some Mogami instrument wire & some pancake connectors & make your own:

Mogami 2319 patch cables come in a bulk set of 6. Good stuff, and durable.

Planet Waves. After several reconfigurings of my main board over the last several years I've yet to have an issue with a cable.

Currently using some black ones I got about 7 or 8 years ago. No idea what brand they are, can't remember what music store I got them in either.

I sometimes think about replacing them but it's been one of those if-it-ain't-broke-don't-fix-it situations, there's never been a problem with any of them and I've been using them constantly for years.

If I were to replace them, I'd probably go with Planet Waves or perhaps Lava.

Planet waves solderless cable station I got literally 10 years ago... built two boards and lots of changes and no issues though not the smallest of connectors. bought a lava kit recently when trying to get pedals closer together on the board and tried thrice and couldn't get a stable connection. Would rather use the planet waves anyday.
