cabnit rewiring

I just bought a SVT 2, which want 2 or 4 ohm speaker cab. I am thinking of rewiring my SWR Goliath III ,8 ohm cabnit in parrellel to get 2 ohm.
Will this affect the Wattage handling capacitie of the 700 watt cabnit?

As an alternative I am thinking of getting a 2nd cab (1 x 15) to daisy chain to get the impeadance down too 4 ohm.
Any suggestions?

Get one just like it and you got 4 ohms of what ya like - easypeasylemonsqueezy.

The power handling won't change. IF the speakers are 8 ohm drivers in series/parallel you can make a 2 ohm cab.

If getting a second cab, then get a matching 4X10. A 1X15 is a poor match for a 4X10.

A second 4x 10 not a 1 - 15? I figured it would add Some low end and round out the tone.
I would be interested in the reasoning behind two seperate people suggesting a second 4 x 10.

A 15 doesn't always give better lows than 10s.
