Excuse my ignorance but, what is an “integrated head”?
One that's still connected to one's body?

In my house, every dayI can't remember the last time I played somewhere without FOH support though. Probably in the '90s as a teenager.
P.S. How I know a 60lb cab is too much.
Concur. I notice most good cabs are very efficient. Because adding watts to get more loudness is a poor strategy. Also, I think higher sensitivity speakers sound more detailed to me. Less muddy.
I use the same strategy for my main home stereo. The power amp makes 8 WPC. Plenty loud using 103db speakers. Sounds amazing.

I am in the same boat. Toured in the early 70's and in three years had 2 places (10 gigs) out of about 750-gigs that had any PA system of their own and back then it was just for vocals. I bought a Standel piggy-back amp with a powered 215 cab at 200-watts rms and it got unGodly loud - indoors I never turned it above #3 on the dial (9 o'clock).I was an invisible young person who didn't spend a few cents on hearing protection. Now, I get to spend $4K on hearing aids every 4 to 5 years and still don't hear as well as most.
Too late to learn my lesson, what about you? I can think of a lot better amps and basses to spend that kind of money on, but I do not have a choice.

Errr… yeah. That’s what I said.Subjective.
The point isn’t really to bag on any amps. Your crap might be my glorious-ness and vice-versa.
I rarely get FOH support (about 10 times in the last 10 years) so have a rig that can cover all eventualities.I can't remember the last time I played somewhere without FOH support though. Probably in the '90s as a teenager.
Right. So in my mind, for all eventualities means top quality cabs. If you have these, a $150 200watt amp shoved in the chain will get you heard. Albeit, may not be the tone a person is chasing after but, it will provide plenty of power to produce the desired decibel levels.I rarely get FOH support (about 10 times in the last 10 years) so have a rig that can cover all eventualities.
Regardless of whether FOH is available or not, 200 vs 800watt SS (or 50 vs 300watt valve) amps seems to me to be negligible.

Edited in after thought:
Having a sweet amp into low quality cabs isn’t going to achieve the mission. Having a low quality amp into sweet cabs however, will.

No disrespect to Michael, but his bass tone never did anything for me, the Mesa-Boogies always sounded good with other players.
Yeah, like I said, clearly you're just playing different types of gigs. It definitely makes sense for you to have a bigger rig. Not worth it for me except for the fun of playing through it.I rarely get FOH support (about 10 times in the last 10 years) so have a rig that can cover all eventualities.

Yeah, and if you have not tried them yet, tap into the elf 2x8. Warning, your wallet will get thinner. Don’t get me wrong, I think that the 110 box is good but, it will reach its limits much sooner. You mean like this?
-A $150 Bam200 amp attached to Trace Elliot's 1x10 Elf cab. (~And it produces a great tone that I like, BTW...)
