Calling all Little Mark II owners.

I am using mine with a 4x10 and 115 Trace stack. At first i was disappointed with the sound, too middy. But after a little LESS adjustment, i am lovin this amp. Cant wait to gig with it through the TE cabs. Then i will try to find some lightweights, that is my goal, to have a light rig. Ill keep the lead sled rig also, i still dig the sound of the heavy amp also.

I currently run an Ashdown EVOII 500 into a HT112/EX112 stack. For the most part I like the sound but it can get wooley sounding at times.

All this talk about the Little Mark has peaked my interest and I want to try one out. I notice that the Little Mark doesn't have a line out volume knob. Is this something that I would miss in the real gig world? I almost always go through the PA when gigging.

I haven't missed it yet. Been gigging since last Fall. Then again, I haven't needed much PA support.

What would you use this knob for? If you touch it at any point during the performance your soundman is going to hate you... most of the time the gain structure of your FOH signal will be determined at the board from the other end of a clean/reliable DI signal.

If you like the Ashdown EVOII 500, odds are you will like the LMII.

:D ... Actually I sold my Ashdown and bought the LMII

Last night was my first gig with the LMII through an NV610 and my Acacia custom. Words can't describe how pleased I am with this setup. Sounded amazing and had plenty of power. I'm sold on this head.

First impressions of the LMII...

I really need to gig with it, but so far, I'm really really impressed. I'm diggin' the tone, though the VLE seems like it's range is about 4x what it needs to be. The VPF seems about 2x what it needs to be, but both are totally usable. I like the voicing of the preamp and frequency selections for the EQ, and the power/weight ratio is beyond excellent. Not much bigger than the Eden WTX260 I had for a while, and where it's nowhere near as feature-rich as that amp, it completely destroys it in output, and sounds every bit as good to me... maybe even better.

So far, the only significant downside, and this may only apply to me, is it has no preamp out at all. Further, none of his amps have a pre/pwr loop and he also doesn't appear to make a preamp-only product. This seems very odd to me.

My favorite thing to do is use an integrated head for small/mid gigs and then use it as a preamp into a power amp for larger stuff, therefore maintaining consistent tone. With this amp, the only way to do that is run a DI off the DI, and pass through the secondary DI into the power amp. That would probably work ok, depending on the quality of the secondary DI, but IMHO, still a sucky solution.

The efx loop, while parallel, and tuner out are both completely dry, and not internally reconfigurable (as the pre/post DI and series/parallel efx are), so those are also not options.

Great Report Vic! Thanks. I too agree it would be nice to have an effects send or Pre-Out that is Post EQ. This could make a really nice front end for a Bergie IP112! Small, lightweight, great sound! Gary

The dedicated preamp out is probably a non-issue for the vast majority of users, especially considering the usable output of this amp. Take it on a gig and see if you really need to run external power. So far I've found that I've had ample reserves on every gig I've done.

You can use the tuner out to drive an amp.
