To Fredguy and Brad, that's a fair point. Although I didn't make it clear, I was sort of aiming the question at people who found themselves having to invest in a new amp AND cab and then choosing something other than Markbass.

For people like yourselves who have already laid out good money for top end cabs them it's understandable you'd pair your Little Mark II with those.

To Fender, yea I love it man!! I only picked the new rig up last Friday and so haven't spent that much time with it but the time I have spent, I was well impressed. Will be trying it out with the band for the 1st time tonight so I'm mega excited about that too!

The only issue I had was the clip light not coming on (which I made another post about), but that didn't affect me getting a killer tone out of the amp.

As for the yellow livery - come of it, it's the best looking colour scheme out there by a MILE!!!

I was originally playing my LMII through a Peavey Pro410 (needed the power handling at an affordable price) but really wanted to replace that 100lb monster with something better and easier to move. I just bought the MarkBass traveler 151 last weekend and am totally blown away by the sound. I can finally hear the low end growl I've heard so much about (but never actually HEARD) coming from my Stingray, so I'm sold on Markbass amps and cabs. Currently loud enough for me, but will probably add another MB cab in the future to get the full 4ohm power, possibly even another 15. As for the yellow/orange drivers, I'm sure they did that to be easily recognisable on stage, and with the great sound I'm now putting out I don't really mind the free advertisement!

Thanks for the info. That would still allow them to technically not discount the amp and just give you other stuff for free. A semantics argument for sure but it works.

Thats a great deal. I'm still in my 30 day period. If you knew for sure you got that, I'll definitely go back and try to work the same out at GC FV. BL: Great deal even without the bonus.

Did that turn out to be the actual problem? I have a hard time imagining how that would happen without destroying the circuit board mounted jack.

If you open up the LMII you will see the jack has an open slot in it and you might be able to fish the tip out with a pointy stick.

That was the actual problem, yes, and I already was able to correct the problem by pulling out the tip through the open slot you mentioned. I did it the night I boughyt it.

Like jmain, I've been GASing for one for awhile, so I dropped by the Hollywood Guitar Center. Tried it a little there and liked what I heard. Talked to Kat the bass dude, and got hooked up with a new one. Nice guy. I tried it a little at my church, but decided to play the service with my Sansamp Programmable BDDI + poweramp because I had it set right from practice. I brought it home so I could mess with it though. I run it through Aguilar GS112s.

Believe it or not I was expecting it to be even smaller and lighter, but it's still really small and light. Sounds really good with the settings flat and the filters off (using a G&L L-2000). Maybe I'll mess around with it to get the right sound, but I already like what I hear.

Hey IA, looks like you caved too!:) I wasn't around Friday to sign for mine, so I should get it tomorrow. Interested to hear what you think about it. Our church went back to hearbacks, so I won't get live settings for a couple weeks. Maybe bring it to a house jam or a practice.

I was hoping that they wouldn't have any in stock so I wouldn't have to open the wallet, but there was the floor model so I at least had to try it. I was worried that it wouldn't be loud enough, being that I run my poweramp bridged and without a PA, but Kat assured me. When I tested it out at the chapel it seemed plenty loud. I couldn't get the clip light to come on so I could turn it back a little, but I wasn't trying all that hard and one of the kids wanted to mess with my bass. Me and his brother were teaching him how to play The Cranberries' "Zombie."

Funny thing is my rig's a lot louder since I traded my Sansamp RBI for the PBDDI. I must've had the -20 db pad initiated or something in the RBI without my knowing. Wouldn't be surprised.

In order to get the clip light on I had to turn the Master almost off and the pre way up. As such I don't worry about getting the clip light going. I'm using active basses only.

Remember that 'getting the clip light on' is not in the context of 'normal playing'. The 'optimum setting' for the pre gain control is to set it so that the clip light just barely comes on with the most aggressive playing on the lowest notes (like thwacking the B string with your thumb slap style).

While the Markbass input gain pot seems to be a 'log' pot (i.e., set so that you have to turn it up a little more than the typical linear pots used by many other manufacturers), it is not that different from most other amps. For example, the 'optimum' setting for the Thunderfunk with my playing style and moderately hot instruments is around 11 o'clock, For the LMII, that similar opimum setting (i.e., when the clip light comes on at the loudest/lowest wumps) is around 1 o'clock or so.

If you have a light touch, a 4 string bass, etc., it would not surprise me that you could not get the clip light to come on. This is actually a good thing, and a 1 or 2 o'clock input gain setting should work just fine.
