I used my new LMII with my AGGIE GS112 as I've done for the past cuppla weeks, but last nite I used my EV TL115 with the GS112 on top. WOW what a sound!!!! Excellent!

I'm glad you got a deal, supposedly that's impossible though. Are you sure you still got the warranty? Would you mind saying how much you got off?
I have paired my head with 2 Traveler 121H.
Markbass 12" are incredible. Clear, deep and powerfull. I have compared them to EBS ones which were my choice at the begining, but markbass ones have much more power.

+1... I have now spent some time with the LMII and my 4ohm 410UL. VERY impressive... the warmth of that LMII class A/B front end, and the deep bass and rather wide voicing works great with the mid punchy tone of the 410UL. It gets shockingly loud with that large, efficient cab. Cool.
I was getting ready to swap the LMII for the 800, but now I think it's a total keeper. Nice!
Agreed! I was thinking about the 800 as well but the LMII/epi410 is a great match and gets loud enough for it to be useable for my needs. Keep in mind I need volume as well as good tone (my other rigs I use the most are a Ca-9/ two berg 322s or a DB 750/GS 412).
Im not one to jump on the band wagon but the epi/lmkII is a great rig. Ive had mine since last Dec and Ive used it from metal to classic rock, blues to funk, all in different band settings with different players (Ive been doing a lot of fill in gigs lately) and its worked great.
It's interesting how the 'mix and match' is so key. That 410UL/LMII is a VERY good match tonally... lot's of 'kick you in the chest' wump from such a small amp... and it's quite a potent rig considering it weighs a totaly of 63 pounds!!!!
Ya the mix and match thing is key. When I hear about the tones people are getting with different gear that I have or have tried, half the time I think their nuts. But when I use the same bass (or close to it) and play the same type of music I can see where their comming from.
I use a modulus and zon and play hard rock most of the time so what I hear from a head or cab can at time be a lot different that what other people hear at times.
Can I just ask why so many of you chose not to go with Markbass cabs?
I'm in no doubt to the quality and ability of many of the usual suspects (Aggys, Epis, Berg etc) but people paring Markbass amps with Markbass cabs are DEF in the minority.
As am I. Paired it with the Markbass Standard 104 and (although I wasn't able to spend the time over the weekend that I wanted too - family commitments ) and it just sounded killer.
Don't dismiss their cabs out of hand people, try em first!!

I think this is for two reasons. 1) the previous generation of Markbass cabs, rightly or wrongly, had quite a bad reputation among players. I understand the newer models are much better and 2) a little bit of yellow on the heads is one thing, but those yellow drivers are hideous

Also, many of us are happy with the cabs we already have. Markbass is definitely doing something fairly unique on the amp front, their cabs just seem to be another Neo based cab though. Nice and light, but nothing unique.

Maybe so, but the MB cabs are very good. The 104HF is the best cab I`ve played so far. Try it!!
I think many people, myself included, already had a rig they liked and bought the LMK2 head and tried it with their existing cabs. I loved it the minute I plugged it into my UL-310 and it's become my main gig rig.

I did, but it wasn't the best 410 I've heard. The Sadowsky SA410 was far better to my ears, and I imagine that with the right head I'd really like the Epifani too.
More importantly, I don't want a 410 - they're way too big and heavy for me! The smaller Markbass cabs did not impress me. I didn't like the 12, and the compact 210 was the closest to convincing me, but the tweeter left much to be desired compared to my Berg HT112.
In short, the Markbass cabs are good, but nowhere near as good as what a lot of people are pairing the heads with, which is why you see so many people using Markbass heads and other manufacturers' cabs.
Positive about the warranty--asked multiple times.
I walked out of the store with the amp, a few packs of strings, some nice 25' cables, and a couple other items for $640.

!I had the same question as you, when I was looking for a cab for my LMII
. It was emjazz who said to me "Don't dismiss the MB cabs out hand just because a lot of people on this forum aren't using them" (or something similar). Then it occurred to me, most TBers will have enough trouble just getting hold of the heads, let alone have access to the whole range of cabs!I really think that it's an availability thing, as much as anything else.
Anyway, I took the advice of bugbass into account too (
) and went for the Traveller 121H, as opposed to the EBS 1x12". I haven't looked back!Also, here's a short thread about that cab winning an award at the German version of NAMM.

Just IMHO but I like the yellow drivers...= distinctive, recogniseable onstage. I like the look of em.. Haven't tried em much outta the shop, but thought one I DID try inshop was OK! Not great but OK!
