I was thinking of selling my 4ohm powerhouse 2x10 (70lbs) and replacing with two mesa 1x12 powerhouse for a more modular and portable yet effective rig but unfortunately mesa discontinued that particular 1x12 cab this year. They weighed in at 48 lbs which would have been fine for me. I'm still considering stacking two single twelves ( either 4 ohm or 8ohm, as my mesa M9 has a 2ohm switch) but I really don't know which direction to go as there is so much choice in gear now! People seem to rave about greenboy fearful/fearless cabs. Also I've really been looking into the Barefaced bass cabs. They sound unbelievable from the specs but the question is, do they deliver the goods? Does anyone have any experience with Barefaced bass cabs?

Oh man, that is a sweet looking little cab, I forgot about LDS. The completely custom nature of their work actually sounds really interesting.

The AudioKinesis cabs do hella wattage (500w) and sound enormous for their size. Maybe one of those?

Not necessarily my first choice given all the options out there these days, but he Eden EX series (110, 210 and 112) all come in both 4 and 8 Ohm and all have a 300 Watt rating. i wouldn't try to put 300 Watts into them, but that's what the sepcs say.

I own an EX110 that I use for acoustic jams and practicing - it's very nice for the price point. It is clearly out of its league against something like a Barefaced cab, but so are many much more expensive (than the EX110) cabs.

I have not owned or even played through any of the Barefaced cabs, but there's quite a few owners posting Official Barefaced Bass Cab Club on this thread.
I'm more interested in the Super Twin or a Super Midget + Super Compact - which I assume are larger than what you're looking for.

Actually, frankly it's more about weight than size for me. I'm playing through a mesa powerhouse 4ohm 2x10 right now and the size is ok, it's just the 70lbs that is breaking my chops every time I carry it up stairs to the club. I've been considering the super twin as well. While it would be nice to get a pair of super compacts or even a pair of big baby's, cost wise the super twin seems like a more realistic option for me, ( and my wife)......

I think the Two10 is a bit more of a vintage type tone while the tweeterless 12" cabs are sort of in between the 10" cabs & the 12" + HF driver, but with less built in color than the 10" cabs.
...or at least that's what I gather from what I've heard about them.

I've only had a limited chance to hear a few of these cabs, but to my ear the 10's are voiced/colored in a way that they sound like a more traditional/old school bass guitar speaker. The 12's, with our without HF drivers, sounded more typical of a flatter response, full range PA type of speaker, but not in a bad way - I would describe it as very open. Probably not the best description, but there was a noticeable difference to me.
