Can anyone identify this Bass?

Certainly not to my knowledge. I was told by the guy I bought it from, that he bought it from the original owner.
I've put this all over the "World wide Web" Nobody seems to know anything about it. --But then, if you've read this thread, you already know that.

It's pretty obvious that you would have no actual knowledge of a theft otherwise you wouldn't be putting this much effort into tracing it. Just how well do you know the people in the lineage of this instrument? That's something only you would know know but something to consider if you don't really know them well. I'm just pointing out there are scenarios where even if someone did recognize it would never get a reply. Maybe some people have passed away along line so the historical link is lost forever. Not saying you should give up - just food for thought.

Well, about as much as any transaction on TB, well, no, I take that back, I went to the Guy's house and met him. I spent several hours with him because he's a nice guy. He had several Instruments there --two Pianos, Flutes and recorders, some weird Australia thing that you blow through. I didn't think he was lying about anything. He has some serious health issues. I sure he's not as sharp as he used to be as a result...I think that's why he's not remembering well. I'll call him again, if I can still find his number, and see if he remembers anything more.

I know it's didgeridoo(didge - er -ree - doo), but I mistook the name as just didgeroo (didge- er- roo) for several years as a teenager, and I still think it sounds better than didgeridoo. Didgeridoo has too many syllables in my opinion and the "ee" sound in the middle makes the whole thing sound silly. Sillier than it is. Didgeroo brings back a little bit of sense, and honestly, a little bit of manliness back to the whole thing. Not sure if bringing "manliness" to an instrument you blow on is good or bad, and you could probably interpret that several different ways. I'm just saying, just my opinion, didgeroo sounds cooler than didgeridoo. Saw an opportunity to sound off, there it is. How often do you get to talk pronunciation of Aussie woodwinds on a Bass website? Or anywhere for that matter?

There's a local blues guitar/singer here who's band I was in 2 or3 times over the years that always brought and played a digeridoo to every gig. He's pretty good on it and we would just do a funk vamp in C and he would do his thing. Quite the novelty and conversation starter. He was pretty OK, he decided to become a painter now and has achieved some local recognition in that field.

The crew at Alembic are allowed to use their shop at night to make their own basses. Looking at the quality of craftsmanship, and the types of wood being used; there is a good chance this is an Alembic "shop night" bass. Give Mica at alembic a call or an e-mail. She may know if it was made in their shop and who made it.
That's one fine bass.
