Hi,
I have an active bass and I'm interested in a DI/multipedal instead of amp. But the pedals I find interesting does not have a button for active bass, (-10 db).
I guess the pedals can handle an active bass, but just for safety, I ask you guys.
Can these pedals handle an active bass?
The pedals are:
- Gallien Krueger PLEX
- Markbass Vintage Pre
- Boss GT-1B

Yes. They will either have a "Gain" setting or ve equippedto handle very hot signals . Gain allows you to turn down the signal coming from your bass if it is too hot. Some brands will call it something else.....maybe "trim" or "drive" or something similar.

I'm feeding the GT1B directly off my wireless with no ill effects. It's not an especially hot signal, but it is active.

Modern equipment that can't do its job with an active signal really needs to be identified as such. I suspect all of these are, at the least, fine.

Edit, just a heads up, the GT1B will need a di after it. I'm currently using a radial sb-2.

Also worth noting that many onboard preamps have a trim pot to adjust output. I.E. Bartolini, Pope, and others.

The Plex will be fine with high output instrument as will the Markbass Vintage Pre. I've used both of those. No experience with the Boss though.

I've been considering the Markbass Vintage Pre and the GK Plex. I've got a Lakland jazz type bass which is passive and has an incredible jazz sound but I'd like to get a fatter tone via a preamp for country, pop/top 40 stuff too.
I'm new here so I'm not sure how this works but I was wondering which of these pedals you would recommend.
If I should start a new thread then I apologize and will do that. Thank you! - Chris
