Even though I set my default classified view as classified , it seems that I can only see them as either tile or grid and large ad pics really take too much space.

Yes. Looks like there are three viewing modes; list, grid, and tile.
Oddly, instead to the widget showing the three modes, with the currently selected mode emphasized, it shows whichever two you haven't currently selected. (iPadOS, Brave)
The pic below shows list view. If you were to click, say, grid in the widget, the page would refresh in grid, with list now an option. Goo-fy.
