Can only upgrade PA by stages - what priority?

Which to upgrade first?

Guess the band needs a lot of volume since nobody has suggested a Line Array system. Lots of Bose L1 users add another L1 and Sometimes a 3rd. There are a lot of sub options also. Same with this one it can also be bought with just the stick and a sub added later. You can use your own mixer.

He's on a tight budget, hence the need to upgrade in stages. I don't think there's a PA system with a higher $$$/db cost than the Bose system. Yes, they sound great and are easily portable but are so expensive.

my point behind the Bose or similar less expensive systems. Is you can upgrade and still keep your old gear. You don't have to get rid of anything every time you upgrade . Will save money in the long run if you can live with and less powerful PA in the beginning.

I selected "Add a sub" option, admittedly without reading all the other responses, just because when we added a sub it really helped. We run a little bit of everything in our PA now, and adding the sub let us do that. We ar running two Behringer 15s for tops, and the sub is an 18 inch Behringer. Adding the sub allowed us to get a little extra thump in the mix without having to add any size IE bigger mains. We have two Behringer powered monitors with 12's in them I think.

But I am no sound expert. I've done it in the past, but I have never heard that anybody had trouble hearing us at any show we've played with the gear we have. It's small and compact. I carry The sub, cable box and mic stands and my cabinet in my Ford Escape, and the singer carries the tops, monitors and speaker stands in his SUV. I covers most places we play.
