Here is a new photo he just posted after I questioned about what happened?

On that picture it kinda looks like something in-between a huge gunk buildup and a burn.

A poorly adjusted nut job maybe? Also on the neck.

Just a guess and kinda of a lame attempt at a joke. Anyway, I was thinking that maybe the nut slots were adjusted too low.

After some thought when looking at the new photo...I came up with this crazy idea that instead of using the strings to hold his cigarette...instead he stuck the butt in between the strings and rubbed it up and down on the fretboard to put it out, leaving those burnt marks!

I agree those are cigarette burns. He smoked unfiltered and stuck them between the strings. Looks like he wasn't too particular which strings he'd stick them between, but over the years it would seem more than a few burned down to the end.

Yeah, that's now how this was done. This was done by sticking the puffing end of an unfiltered cigarette (or maybe a joint) between the strings.
