Can you ID this band or singer?

Recorded from a Portland OR radio station, probably Q105, in the late 80s. This has a *lot* of people stumped on FB. One of the repeating phrases that's understandable is "I was only trying to make the world more personal".

EDIT: If this belongs under Recordings, feel free to move it.

It was my band, and yes, we were unknown. Many were correct that we played about a year, maybe two then moved on. I had no idea anybody was looking for this song. I only found out when I posted a video I made to youtube

Reason 258 to love TB.

Thank you. This has been really weird. There are a lot of threads all over the place about this song. It has taken me a while to contact the other guys and I'm supposed to have a call with the drummer today. There are actual cover versions on YouTube. We are through the looking glass, it was just a demo tape. Anyway, I think it would make an interesting podcast. BTW, I do remember that I was playing a Yamaha BB300 that had replaced the pickups with an EMG PJ setup. That is why it sounds so hot, the engineer didn't know what to do with it. I wasn't using a pick, just fingers.
