Can you tell me something about these things ?

I think that's a Korean made SR, maybe late 90s, early 2000s. Nothing too fancy but well made. Again if you like the way it feels & plays, but not the sound, you could certainly change out the electronics. I might start with pickups because the older preamps were decent. These basses are not worth a whole lot of money on the used market, even with upgraded electronics, so it should be said that any money invested will not come back to you if you decide to sell it.

I can't help but wonder if it has been sanded back to bare wood. Unless they were a higher end model many of these basses were solid colors.

I believe this is probably made in China. That's what the S normally refers to in the serial number.

Could be, I thought the S indicated a Samick factory. In the 90s and 2000s they were making a lot of instruments in Korea

After a certain year. When I plugged in the number it was made at Saehan Guitar Technology, China in 1993. I shouldn't have said normally.
